TSMC to produce Huawei and Apple's processors
Commercial disputes between China and the United States and the ban on Huawei do not seem to affect the TSMC. The Taiwanese company began mass production of 7nm + processors for both Apple and Huawei.
As the world's largest semiconductor manufacturer, TSMC manufactures various parts for leading smartphone manufacturers. This is why it is in an important position in today's mobile device industry. Headquartered in Taiwan, the company officially announced that it pushed the button for second-generation 7nm + processors. TSMC, which will implement EUV technology for the first time, has taken another step to become the main competitor of Intel and Samsung.
According to the latest news, the company will continue to work with Huawei and will use the 7nm + technology on the Kirin 985 chipset on the Mate 30. Meanwhile, the TSMC continues to work with Apple, 7nm + A13 SoC processor will produce the technology said. The new A13s are planned to be used on iPhones in 2019.
WILL START TO SERIAL PRODUCTION IN 2020
TSMC has already announced some future plans. The company has already started trial production of 5 nm processors with EUV technology and will start mass production in the first quarter of 2020. The first processors will be released in June of the same year. Meanwhile, the new facility, which was added to the Science and Technology Park in Taiwan, was made ready for the latest developing production operations. The former R & D facility is preparing for the production of 3nm processors.
